Frequently asked questions

Are lessons in person or online?

Both. Lessons are in person at our Kowloon Tong centre or online.

What do you teach?

Three areas: 培幼 Early Years (interview prep, Math Olympiad, languages, phonics, Cambridge YLE, KET and PET), 培樂 Enrichment (STEAM, art and music) and 培優 Academic (HK local curriculum from primary to HKDSE, international curricula, homework support, education consultancy and school application support). We also teach abacus.

How do you personalise teaching?

We start with a diagnostic in the first lesson. It looks at each area and is not a pass or fail test. Your child's strengths and gaps then shape the plan: what to teach, in what order and what to skip. We build custom materials from your child's school work and level, check progress regularly and adjust the plan, and you receive a written report every month.

How much are lessons?

Fees depend on the class and level. WhatsApp us and we will send the details for your child's class.

Do you offer trial lessons?

We don't run trial lessons. Speech starts with an assessment, and Phonics and Math Olympiad offer an optional diagnostic, so your child starts at the right level.

Is the Speech assessment charged?

No, the Speech assessment is free. We usually send you a written assessment report within one working day.

How long is each lesson?

Lessons run from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the class and level, usually once a week.

How big are the groups?

Most lessons are one-to-one. Small groups have 4 to 6 students at most.

How does billing work?

Fees are billed monthly in advance. There is no registration or materials fee; music may need a book fee for scores.

How do I pay?

Cash, cheque, FPS, bank transfer, credit card, PayMe or Alipay.

What if my child misses a lesson?

Tell us at least 24 hours before and we arrange a makeup lesson within one month. If your child is sick, the 24-hour rule does not apply.

Can I get a refund?

Fees are not refundable. If your child misses a lesson with notice, we arrange a makeup lesson instead.

What happens in a typhoon or black rainstorm?

Lessons are rescheduled, or moved online where that suits the class.
